If you apply using a paper application :

• Pick up an application in the College /Career Resource Center. 
• Or have the college send you an application
• Or, go to the college website and print the application
• Neatly fill out the application using black or blue ink
• Take the completed application to your Guidance Counselor.
• Your Guidance Counselor will attach a transcript, test scores, senior schedule, an academic profile of Hackensack High School and any letters of recommendation, which have been written by your teachers on your request.
• Your Guidance Counselor will then review your application and add his or her signature and a letter of recommendation, if requested by the student or required by the college or university.  He or she will then check to see that all the required documents are attached to the application .
• You must allow 10 school days to process your application .
• Wait for an answer from the school you applied to.

If you apply on-line (recommended):

• Fill out the application on-line.
• Print the Counselor Information Page(s) and fill out your part of the page(s).
• Take the Counselor Information Page(s) to your Guidance Counselor.
• Your Guidance Counselor will attach a transcript, test scores, senior schedule, an academic profile of Hackensack High School and any letters of recommendation, which have been written by your teachers on your request.
• Your Guidance Counselor will then complete his or her portion of the Information Page(s), add his or her signature and a letter of recommendation, if requested by the student or required by the college or university.  He or she will then check to see that all the required documents are attached to the Counselor Information page(s).
• Wait for an answer from the school you applied to.

You must allow 10 school days to process your Counselor Information Page(s).
