Mission Statement
The Hackensack High School Library Media Center 's goal is to ensure that students graduate as competent, critical, and ethical users of information. It is our mission to support the curriculum, district goals, and diverse needs and learning/teaching styles of students and staff, and to prepare life-long learners who are information literate citizens able to determine their information needs, recognize relevant information, solve problems and effectively communicate the results of their research. As the hub of intellectual activity in the school, the HHS LMC supports students' curricular, informational and recreational needs, provides instruction so that students learn to identify, locate, evaluate, and use information in a variety of formats, and ensures that students and staff are effective users of ideas and information by developing positive attitudes towards libraries and information sources, promoting life-long use of libraries and other resources to help students and staff stay informed in our rapidly changing world.
