◄MISSION STATEMENT►

The HHS Drama Department allows students the opportunity to explore many aspects of the performing arts within many different venues.  The drama year currently consists of a fall production at the Hackensack Cultural Arts Center, a spring musical, and a spring play presented by the drama class.  There are also several “Improv Nights”, and other opportunities during the school year to audition and perform in productions at the Cultural Arts Center in Hackensack, where students not only share the stage with professional actors, singers, and dancers, but also work with a production staff with experience in the NYC Theater community.  Aside from performing, our students are given the chance to learn to stage manage, direct, build sets, run lights and sound equipment, to crew a show, and take on many other technical endeavors.  Everyone is welcome to audition for the plays, musicals, and improvisational club or to be involved in the technical end.  The drama program is an excellent vehicle for students to not only learn important aspects of life such as teamwork and discipline, but it also prepares young artists in a professional environment for a possible future career in the arts.
