Career Department Services

The Career Department services all high school adolescents from 14 to 21 who are currently seeking employment. The process involves networking with businesses throughout Hackensack and the surrounding neighborhoods. We then establish career leads and business contacts. We assist students with completing applications, self-directed searches, interviews, resume writing and internships. Freshmen are required to volunteer during their Freshmen year and write an essay or complete an assignment to be discussed. Upper Classmen are required to complete resumes. In order for students to be referred to positions of employment, they must have two teacher references, excellent attendance and punctuality. If students engage in fighting at any time they will be terminated from the program.
The career department also services students who are in the process of withdrawing from school but want to continue to receive their high school equivalency and college degree. Our GED to BCC program affords students the opportunity of attending adult school at Bergen Community College .

Please visit the Drop-In Centers Career Program for further information click here to view the contract, if you choose to participate.
