Welcome Freshman Parents, Parents of the Class of the Hackensack High School Class of 2011! My name is John Bellocchio, and I am a History Teacher here at Hackensack High School, as well as the Freshman Class Advisor. In my role as Advisor, it will be my job to work with your students to make every possible effort to ensure that their senior class dues are as low as fiscally possible. It is my job, and I assure you I am committed to this as my mission, to make the fundraising experience between now and the end of Senior Year active, interesting, and most of all, profitable.
In the past, every student was given the opportunity to raise the most amount of money possible to defray their class dues. Students worked on everything from car washes to working the football games, to beefsteak dinners. Each student was, and will again be given the opportunity, to work at various events throughout the school year to decrease their student debt. Coupled with an excellent fundraising strategy which is already under development, I am convinced that we can make a concerted effort to make the Class of 2011 dues among the lowest dues yet.
How will we accomplish this lofty goal? Firstly, through a combined commitment: my commitment, my administration's commitment, your commitment, and the commitment of your students. The preparation for fundraising has already begun. For example, I am considering one particular initiative which will include selling items such as specially blended coffee, "Blue and Gold Coffee," which students will be able to sell in the community. This type of product placement is absolutely critical as it puts the Class of 2011 actively on the market and actively seeking the road to lower class dues at all times. This is but one idea, but the best such programs begin with solid ideas and solid commitment; be assured, you have my utmost commitment. Your suggestions are as critical as mine, and I invite you to contact me any time with ideas that you may have. Together, we are a team, and indeed, we will accomplish more than ever before. Together we represent the newest Comets--let us make them proud.
